Infor CloudSuite HR & Payroll Data Migration

Novant Health

Three Infor platforms after a merger, brought onto one CloudSuite, with HR and payroll for more than 40,000 employees moved without any downtime.

40,000+employees moved onto Infor CloudSuite HR and payroll

The Situation

Novant Health is a large health system based in North Carolina. After a merger it was running three Infor platforms side by side: Lawson, CloudSuite and an on-premise Workforce Management system.

The job was to bring HR, payroll and the systems around them onto CloudSuite without interrupting pay for more than 40,000 people, and to move millions of records while the hospitals kept running.

What We Did

Conversions

  • Converted Lawson 9 HR, Lawson 9 payroll and PeopleSoft HR into Infor Global HR and CloudSuite payroll
  • Moved Lawson 9 Mobile Supply Chain Management and the on-premise Workforce Management system onto CloudSuite
  • Built reconciliation routines to compare old and new results before each cutover

Integrations

  • Connected Workforce Management, FSM, Warehouse Management and Document Management through IPA and ION
  • Coordinated IPA, Infor Security Services and Infor OS across the combined organization
  • Ran Azure Data Factory pipelines to move and transform data between systems

Migration

  • Moved millions of records with replication sets and Infor's Data Migration Accelerators, with no downtime
  • Used Birst to model and report on the data along the way
  • Worked through cross-platform workflows and priorities with executives and clinical managers

The Results

40,000+ Employees on CloudSuite HR and payroll
30% Less month-end close processing
0 Downtime during the migration

HR and payroll for the whole system now run in one place. We worked with the HR and payroll teams to redesign their processes and line up the system configuration, and that cut month-end close processing by 30%.
