City of Chicago
A Salesforce case-management app connected to the city's other systems through MuleSoft, and a data warehouse that takes in more than 5 billion rows a year.
5 billion+rows a year into the city's data warehouse
The Situation
The City of Chicago ran a custom Salesforce app for case management that needed to share data with ServiceNow, RapidID and older city systems. The city also needed a data warehouse that could take in what those systems produce and give each department the slice of it they use.
What We Did
Integrations
- Built MuleSoft integrations between the Salesforce case-management app and ServiceNow, RapidID and older city systems
- Led the integration architecture and technical delivery across city agencies and an offshore team
Data
- Built Azure Data Factory pipelines from Azure Data Lake into Synapse that take in more than 5 billion rows a year
- Set up the infrastructure as code with ARM templates, and data lineage in Azure Purview
- Designed departmental data marts for the teams that use them
The Results
Case data now moves between Salesforce and the city's other systems through MuleSoft, and departments work from data marts built on a warehouse that keeps up with more than 5 billion rows a year.
